IV. Prints

Bayt Moodboard and Print
The desire to devour pink pomelo and a fragrant pile of peel inspired the print bayt (Arabic: house). Playing with different texture in a 2D print is the main focus of this graphic. All shapes are derived from photographed pomelo peels. In some parts coloring dominates over texture, whereas in other parts (i.e. the letters) the peel's structure is essential.

Bulanī Moodboard and Print
The print bulanī depicts the graphic interpretation of a traditional Afghani dish. A simple paper towel turned palette pad inspired the dish's main component: the lush leek filling. The 3D Arabic lettering of the word is superposed on the visually textured food.

Eid Mubārak Moodboard and Print
The end of every Ramadan is marked by a digital avalanche of cheesy Eid Mubarak cards. They travel thousands of digital miles, only to circle back around, sometimes reaching the inbox of the initial sender. After 30 days of food and fasting, consumption can become a blur. The pixelated heat-shaped, homemade bread conveys this common feeling. It allows to focus on what the main message of this print is: Eid Mubarak (blessed celebration).
